Safety Tip of the day!

We all know that some dogs are hard to get to come out of a cage (or are cage biters) and we usually leave their own collars and leashes on them or a slip lead which to me is not really safe as they can come off easily and have to watch the dogs all the time to make me feel safe....We have a catch pole but I hate to use it because it usually upsets the dogs worse than they already are. Sometimes I use a kennel without a top on it (I have open playpens that we can use) but some dogs bark or climb out, so these are not always a good option.
WELL!

The other day we had a dog in that bites coming out of a cage and he was pulling out of his leash and collar, so my groomer used a harness that was left at the shop and hooked a leash to it to be able to get him out. He said it just hit him that it might work.

I was surprised I never thought about this before and our Dollar Tree had harnesses (granted they are not great quality but they would work) so I bought two in each size to have at the shop and we always have slip leads we can use on the harness.

SO we now have harnesses for the dogs that belong to the shop and we can put them on a dog that is a cage biter and be able to get them out of a kennel easily and not worry about their safety.

I used one yesterday in fact on a dog that likes to go into the back of the cage and pull hard and it was so nice to be able to pick the leash up and him walk right out!

Hope this trick helps!
